Darcy Tinnes - President

Darcy has been a licensed and bonded auto broker in Minnesota operating his own company since 1996.  He has 12 years experience on the business development and operations side and has brokered more than 3,000 vehicle transactions since starting in the industry in November, 2002. 

Throughout the years, he has cultivated lasting relationships with credit unions and corporations and with owners and fleet managers of dealerships throughout Minnesota.  He developed a unique, customer friendly approach to buying a vehicle that has resulted in efficiency for all parties involved and a high level of customer satisfaction.  

Through December, 2004, the company was operated out of Bloomington, MN, with a couple of people assisting with account management and client sales interaction.

In January, 2005, Darcy merged the company with an early-stage venture capital firm in Minneapolis to increase the service offering, placing emphasis on partnerships with large credit unions.  This increased the number of people served by our company from 25,000 to nearly 200,000.  He hired a former Fleet Manager that had represented our clients from the dealership side for more than 12 years to assist with operations and sales. 

In May, 2007, Darcy scaled back the business to apply his experience to a career outside of the automotive industry.  He still oversees the operation of CU Auto Advocate and will continue assisting select repeat customers and their referrals with the help of our trusted Dealer Partners.  His wife, Ann, assists our clients as well.
